Foundation Foundation Odissi Postures

Foundation (Odissi Prathama)

Designed for absolute beginners. Students are introduced to the core grammar of Odissi classical dance, including basic stances, hand positions, and dynamic postures.

  • Focus: Chowka, Tribhanga, Mudras, and Charis
  • Duration: 1 Year (Preparatory Course)

Intermediate (Odissi Madhyama)

For dancers who have mastered the basic foundation. Explores standard repertoire compositions including rhythmic expansions (Pallavi) and introductory expression (Abhinaya).

  • Duration: 2 - 3 Years Course

Nrutyayan Centre for Odissi Dance is officially affiliated with the prestigious Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh), one of India's premier organizations for certification in classical music and dance.

Our academic program is structured to provide deep theoretical knowledge and thorough practical expertise over a multi-year curriculum:

  • Students appear for standardized written (theory) and performance (practical) exams annually.
  • A student must undergo at least **six months** of continuous study in an academic year to qualify to sit for the exams.
  • Upon successful completion of the **6-year curriculum**, students are awarded a recognized **Master's Degree** in classical Odissi dance.
